Whether Sharing Live or Pre-Recorded Content or Managing Signage, the AMX Network Media Ecosystem Ensures Seamless Experience

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands – February 4, 2014 – In its mission to develop AV solutions for an IT world, at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2014, AMX® spotlighted its Network Media Ecosystem enhancements and additions including two new H.264 Encoders, two new Inspired Signage digital signage players, a new version of AMX XPort Data Integration Software and several Vision²® enhancements. AMX Network Media solutions assist companies in breaking through the distance boundaries of AV infrastructure to bridge room AV, share live and pre-recorded video content, distribute and manage digital signage, and make it all simple to access and manage from anywhere in the world.

To stream video from a PC, camera, set top box or other AV source, you need an encoder to convert the outputs of those sources to a format that can be streamed over your network. The new AMX H.264 Encoder is the starting point of the AMX Network Media Ecosystem and is being described as the most cost effective, high definition H.264 encoder on the market. Additionally it offers IT managers a network-friendly solution for incorporating AV into any existing IP infrastructure. The new NMX-ENC-1100 features a single multi-format input and the new NMX-ENC-1105 features a multi-format input as well as an SDI input.

Two new AMX Inspired Signage Players (IS-XPT-2100 and IS-SPX-1300) pack more features and functionality into an AMX signage player than ever before, yet still maintain an ultra-compact form factor. The new Inspired XPert IS-XPT-2100 includes the features and benefits of the previous XPert player but now includes multi-byte language support in a much more compact and cost effective package that's 60% smaller than the previous generation. The new Inspired XPress IS-SPX-1300 features 720p resolution and 720p video playback for displaying assets in HD resolution. It also packs more processing power for smoother animation and there's no need to revise existing content since the new IS-SPX-1300 players can coexist with the previous Inspired XPress IS-SPX-1000.

The new AMX XPort Data Integration Software "xports" data such as weather, news feeds, stocks and other information from a variety of sources and makes it available to digital signage players, touch panels, and mobile devices. This simple, intuitive software offers an easy and secure method to manage internal and external data feeds and gives anyone the ability to create custom feeds as well.

Also announced at InfoComm 2013 were several enhancements to Vision², the software that centrally manages encoders, content recording, and content storage and distribution. Vision2 now offers the capability to easily integrate with existing network based storage infrastructure (NAS - Network Attached Storage and SAN - Storage Area Network) and backup procedures. And Vision2 administrators can now designate roles/privileges to allow groups to upload and manage their own content and video channels within a corporation.
