Compact device offers versatile features at an affordable price
LAS VEGAS, NV, June 18, 2008 - A two input by two output speaker level relay switcher, the new AA-PPRC Priority Paging Remote Controller from Atlas Sound is a compact device ideally suited for use in any application in which audio needs to be temporarily muted so that a page can be heard. Perfect for zone paging management in new or existing systems found in boardrooms, schools, health care centers, and hotels, the controller comes standard with its own 12VDC external power supply, and is ready for immediate mounting and use.
Purposeful engineering gives the AA-PPRC price point and feature advantages that exceed competitive models. With power handling rated at 350 watts per channel at 70V, the device is designed to be placed between the output of an amplifier and the loudspeakers. System switching events can be triggered from a variety of sources at line level (with a threshold sensitivity of 20mV-2V), speaker level (with a threshold sensitivity of 3V-45V), or via a contact closure or external voltage trigger operating between 5-24VDC. A recovery adjust circuit is also provided that is user-selectable from 1-30 seconds.
A typical application would utilize the AA-PPRC in conjunction with classroom amplification for AV systems or amplified learning in K-12 environments. A parallel output from the paging system loudspeaker in the same room triggers the AA-PPRC when signal is present, ducking the playback system so the page can be heard clearly. The AA-PPRC speaker level trigger input will not place any additional load on the paging system.
Featuring a rugged 18-gauge CRS chassis, the controller measures a discreet 1.5" high x 4" wide and 4.5" inches long, and is outfitted with Phoenix-type input and output connectors. A two-color LED displays operations, using red to indicate standby mode and green to show active status.
