BEAVERTON, Oregon — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems that power the world's most sophisticated audio/video systems, has been named Audio Manufacturer of the Year in AV Magazine's 2011 AV Awards.
"It's a great honor to be named manufacturer of the year by AV Magazine and be recognized for producing one of the best quality audio products in the industry," said Steve Metzger, president of Biamp Systems. "It really comes down to the customer and meeting their needs, which has fueled the innovation and great service we set out to provide every day here at Biamp."
Now in their 12th year, the AV Awards are considered to be the most important awards in the UK and Europe for the professional AV industry. The judging panel, consisting of senior representatives from user companies and key industry players, looked for examples of excellence that contributed towards the overall success of a project or innovation.
The AV Awards are designed to recognize the best AV companies and projects around, to publicize the high-quality work that the industry does, and to promote the business benefits that the industry's clients get from using AV technology.
Biamp Systems was named Audio Manufacturer of the Year based on the global launch of its Vocia® critical paging and life safety system. In addition to being EN 60849 and AS 60849 system verified, Vocia received EN 54-16 certification — making it the world's first advanced, networked paging system with EN 54-16 certification. In February 2011, Biamp introduced Vocia 1.2 incorporating additional enhancements that increased system flexibility and scalability, making it the ideal solution for multi-building facilities, public and private spaces and a wide range of rooms and meeting spaces. The latest Vocia updates, introduced in June during InfoComm, included four new amplifiers and continued software enhancements. Biamp also received ISO9001:2008 certification in March 2011.
