AUSTRALIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION INSTALLS CAMIO TO AUGMENT MULTIPLE CHYRON LEX² GRAPHICS SYSTEMS
Posted on Thursday, January 22, 2009

Melville, NY, January 22, 2009: Chyron (NASDAQ: CHYR) has today announced that ABC Television, a service of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), has installed Chyron CAMIO MOS workflow servers to complement new LEX² graphics systems for use in producing top-quality SD graphics for a wide range of programming from ABC’s Sydney base, plus seven other ABC capital city sites in Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Hobart, Perth, Brisbane and Darwin.

ABC will take advantage of CAMIO, a complete news graphics workflow management solution providing unprecedented control over the management and delivery of newsroom graphics, empowering journalists and producers with the easy-to-use LUCI ActiveX Newsroom Plugin interface to create, preview and publish highly sophisticated graphics. Since the rendering of graphics previews happens on the CAMIO server, there is no additional hardware required on the journalist desktop. High resolution preview images of each graphic in LUCI are shown to the requestor using popular “small footprint” file formats, and allow for previews across the WAN as well as the LAN.

The LEX² systems provide seamless graphics creation to playout, real-time 2D/3D animation and host of hardware and software features including 2D and 3D object import; Advanced Text and Image Effects; Intelligent Interface® and DB Link update; and macro creation/execution and an HD/SD high quality 3D DVE.

Further, when coupled with Chyron’s “iSQ”, a centralized remote monitoring and playout application, ABC can monitor and control MOS-generated playlists from multiple devices.

Chyron Director of Asia Pacific Sales William Payne said, “ABC is one of Australia’s premier broadcasters. Their decision to further enhance their graphic presence with Chyron technology is something that will be of substantial benefit and ROI to ABC and its millions of viewers across the continent.”
