Meyer Sound has announced the appointment of44.1, based in the Paris suburb of Colombes, as the first French dealer for EXP cinema audio systems. 44.1 is one of four recent additions to the Meyer Sound EXP distribution network, which also includes ACS Distributions in Pomona, Calif.; Audio Intervisual Design, Inc. in West Hollywood, Calif.; and FTT (Film Ton Technik Hannsdieter Rüttgers GmbH) in Düsseldorf, Germany.
"In the past we have been frustrated by the limited sound quality of traditional cinema loudspeaker systems," comments Paul-Henri Wagner, owner of 44.1. "Now, with EXP, we have a modern speaker system that we really enjoy listening to."
Meyer Sound EXP cinema systems will be available through EXP dealers, including the Acheron screen channel and low-frequency loudspeakers, X-800C cinema subwoofer, HMS-10 surround loudspeaker, and Galileo loudspeaker management system.
"These new EXP alliances reflect a strong commitment to providing the ultimate in cinema sound quality," says Mauricio Saint Martin, global sales director for EXP. "Having great tools is only a start. We look forward to working closely with these new partners to deliver the system precision and power needed to push the bar for cinema sound reproduction."
Excited to introduce the advantages of Meyer Sound EXP to the thriving French film industry, Wagner continues, "It's a much better system for mixing a film. EXP does not suffer from the limitations of traditional loudspeaker systems, such as distortion and lack of power in the lower frequency range. This is the right time for the cinema industry to improve audio to complement the new digital image standards, and the best results can be obtained only if post-production facilities and cinema exhibitors are upgrading at the same time. Our role at 44.1 is to help both sides move together toward this goal."
